AmBank cardmembers are better prepared to manage the imposition of the new Credit Card tax as the Bank has implemented several initiatives to assist them, primarily through the offer of credit cards with two limits. One credit limit is for cardmembers' daily spend while the second limit is for cardmembers to consolidate all outstanding balances from other credit cards. This innovative offer of the additional credit limit of up to RM50,000 for the sole purpose of balance transfers means cardmembers only need one card to manage their finances - hence cardmembers only pay credit card tax on one card. Datuk Mohamed Azmi Mahmood, Managing Director, Retail Banking, AmBank (M) Berhad said, "Cardmembers enjoy greater value when they choose to do a balance transfer with AmBank's second credit limit. They get to take home a guaranteed gift from a selection of exciting electronic gadgets and RM50.00 cash rebate."
The AmBank Platinum and Gold Credit Cards with a second credit limit are now made available to both existing cardmembers and new approved cards. AmBank Cards also offer cardmembers the option to convert their retail purchases into manageable monthly installments with AmFlexi Pay, a campaign that allows cardmembers to save on interest while stretching their dollar to meet more urgent needs.
In addition to this, AmBank cardmembers also enjoy a host of discounts and privileges when they dine, travel and shop daily, and the latest offer extends to new Platinum and Gold cardmembers up to 10% Cash Rebate on insurance and groceries transactions whilst other retail transactions attract 5% Cash Rebate.
Another option cardmembers have to offset their credit card tax is to make cash redemptions with their accumulated reward points. With as little as 5000 reward points both principal and supplementary AmBank cardmembers can make a redemption.
