MEPS Mobile Prepaid Top Up
  • 1.What is this new service all about?

    It’s a mobile prepaid top-up service made available at all AmBank ATMs to facilitate mobile phone users. ​

  • 2.How many participating Telcos will there be?

    There will be 3 participating Telcos offering their services :

    • Hotlink (Maxis)                        - 012,017
    • Xpax (Celcom)                        - 013,019
    • DiGi (excluding Happy-DiGi)      - 016

  • 3.What are the fixed reload amounts available?

    1. Hotlink (Maxis) - RM10, RM30, RM60, RM100
    2. Xpax (Celcom   - RM10, RM30, RM50, RM100, RM200
    3. DiGi                 - RM10, RM30, RM50, RM100​

  • 4.Will there be any check digit validation on the mobile phone number?

    The check digit validation is only on the first 3-digit phone number which is 011, 012, 013, 014, 016, 017 and 019.  This is to check and identify the Telco.

    However, there is no check digit validation on the 7 digit mobile phone number.

  • 5.What will happen if the customer reloads to the wrong mobile phone number?

    No refund shall be given for reload to a wrong mobile phone number existing in the Telco’s directory.

    For reload to a wrong mobile phone number non-existing in the Telco’s directory, a report will be generated for a refund to be made.

  • 6.Will any banks offer RM5 reloads?

    Only Agro Bank ATMs offers Xpax RM5 reloads. ​

  • 7.Who will benefit from this new service?

    Mobile phone users who are either AmBank ATM cardholders OR MEPS Participating Banks ATM cardholders can now perform a prepaid reload at any 826 AmBank ATMs nationwide!​

  • 8.Who are these MEPS participating banks for this service?

    There are currently 7 MEPS participating Banks for this service :

    • Affin Bank
    • Agro Bank
    • AmBank
    • Bank Rakyat
    • Hong Leong Bank
    • RHB Bank (Celcom & Maxis Only)
    • UOB
  • 9.What are the available scenarios provided under this new service?

    Scenario 1
    Mobile prepaid reload for AmBank ATM cardholders at AmBank ATMs
    (eg. AmBank customer reloads at AmBank’s ATMs)

    Scenario 2
    Mobile prepaid reload for MEPS participating Bank’s ATM cardholders at AmBank ATMs
    (eg. Affin Bank customer reloads at AmBank’s ATMs)

    Scenario 3
    Mobile prepaid reload for AmBank ATM cardholders at Other FI’s ATM
    (eg. AmBank customer reloads at  Bank Rakyat’s ATMs)

  • 10.Can a non-participating bank enjoy these scenarios?

    Non-participating banks will not be able to enjoy Scenarios 2 & 3.
    They only enjoy Scenario 1 that only allows their own ATM cardholders to reload at their own ATMs.

    Eg. For non-participating banks :

    Scenario 1
    A CIMB customer can reload at CIMB’s ATMs

    Scenario 2
    A CIMB customer cannot reload at AmBank’s ATMs

    Scenario 3
    An AmBank customer cannot reload at Maybank’s ATMs

  • 11.What are the operational hours for this service?

    This service is available from 6.00am – 11.59pm.​

  • 12.Will the customer be charged with any fees for using this service?

    NO.  Whether or not the customer is an AmBank ATM cardholder or a MEPS participating Bank’s ATM cardholder, there will not be any fees charged for using this service.  (Unlike the normal withdrawal, IBFT, IBLR fee of RM1.00)​

  • 13.Will the prepaid reload be credited immediately?

    When a customer performs a prepaid reload, the transaction will credit the customer’s mobile prepaid account and debit the customer’s saving or current account in real time.​

  • 14.What is the daily limit for prepaid reload?

    The daily prepaid reload has no limit. It is not a shared limit with the other services.​
