In line with the spirit of Ramadhan, KAG initiated this charity event to bring happiness to 35 disabled persons with 14 boys and 19 girls, ages seven to 26 years old, 6 orphanages with a boy and 5 women whose ages range from 11 to 18 years old, 5 single mothers, ages 45 to 60 years old and 13 guardians.

In attendance at the Majlis Berbuka Puasa were Ms Ong Gaik Leng, Regional Director, Northern Region, AmBank (M) Berhad and staff from AmBank Northern Region.

AmBank Group contributed essential items such as book rack, kitchen cabinet, refrigerator, rice cooker and cooking stove among others worth RM5,200 to the residents at PDK Kota Lama Kiri and PDK Lempor. Besides that, the Group also sponsored the water supply installation for PDK Lempor worth RM2,000.

“The Buka Puasa session is one activity we look forward to every year in the holy month of Ramadhan. This is one way for us to contribute to the less fortunate, in line with the Islamic teachings of caring, self discipline, sacrifice and sympathy to the less fortunate.” said Ms Ong Gaik Leng, Regional Director, Northern Region, AmBank (M) Berhad.

“We are delighted to have the residents of PDK Kota Lama Kiri and PDK Lempor to join us here today. Their presence certainly makes this Ramadhan a meaningful and joyous occasion,” she added. Ms Ong later presented duit raya to the recipients.

The treat for the children, elderly, single mothers and the disabled is part of AmBank Group’s all-year round charity programme. The Group has always striven to play a significant role in contributing to society at large through initiatives such as these.
