AmInvest Recognised As Best Domestic Fixed Income Fund Manager 2021 by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF)

Commenting on the win, Ms. Goh Wee Peng, Chief Executive Officer of AmFunds Management Berhad, said, “We are honoured to be recognised by the EPF as the top performing external portfolio fixed income manager for domestic fixed income mandate, which is an affirmation of our investment expertise and our capabilities built over the past 40 years.”

AmInvest is the brand name for the funds management business of AmFunds Management Berhad and AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd. AmInvest manages assets worth around RM47 billion (as at May 2022) comprising both conventional and Shariah-compliant investment solutions, both foreign and local investments across various asset classes. Around 86% of its total assets under management comprise fixed income investments.

Mr. Wong Yew Joe, Chief Investment Officer of AmFunds Management Berhad, added, “Yields have risen this year due to the market pricing in multiple interest rate hikes, and we believe the market now offers good entry opportunities into fixed income for future upside. Though we are selective on credit exposure, we see value in the bond market to deliver good performance across our fixed income mandates.”

Throughout the years, AmInvest has received various awards for its expertise in managing fixed income investments, including this year’s Best Bond Fund Family Group Over Three Years for the third year running at the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards Malaysia 2022.² Adding to its haul of accolades, AmInvest also scooped up the Best Asset Manager (Fixed Income), Malaysia award for the third consecutive year at the Alpha Southeast Asia 13th Annual Fund Management Awards 2022³ and Best Bond Manager for Malaysia award for the second consecutive year at Asia Asset Management’s Best of the Best Awards 2022.⁴

At the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Malaysia Awards 2022, AmInvest’s AmDynamic^# Bond swept all three Best Bond MYR Fund’s individual award categories - Three Years’, Five Years’ and Ten Years’ performance. ² Two of them are repeat wins as AmDynamic Bond has won the Best Bond MYR Fund Over Three Years and Best Bond MYR Fund Over Five Years for the third year running.² This award-winning fund is also an EPF-qualified unit trust fund eligible under the EPF Member’s Investment Scheme (“EPF MIS”).⁵ EPF MIS allows EPF members to transfer a portion of their savings from their Account 1 for investments through appointed fund management institutions as an option to enhance their retirement savings.⁵
