Kurnia Insurans Joins Hands with Paramount Property and Build Easy to Create 'HOMESAFE'
Raising Awareness about Home Safety with Virtual Reality (VR) Technology
Stories in the media of homes being burgled or razed by fire have kept many Malaysians on edge. Many can’t take a holiday in peace, wondering if their belongings would be waiting for them when they return home.
In light of this, Kurnia Insurans, together with partners BuildEasy and Paramount Property, has launched HOMESAFE, a campaign aimed to give Malaysians the confidence to leave home without fear.
During the campaign, Malaysians will learn how to keep their homes and belongings safe by spotting potential hazards. They can also access experts and services that will help them keep their home contents safe and also improve their homes.
HOMESAFE booths were set up at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, from May 11 to 13. Whilst another booth will be at Empire Subang, Subang Jaya, from May 25 to 27.
Visitors to the booths will be able find out more about home insurance, look at property showcases and promotions, and get free interior design consultations.
There are also games and prizes to be won. Visitors stand to win RM4,000 worth of home appliances through lucky draws.
However, a “must try” for visitors is the HOMESAFE VR Game. By wearing special goggles, visitors will be transported to a virtual reality home where they have to spot as many hazards as possible before the clock runs out. Those who participate in this unique VR game will stand the chance to win complete room makeovers worth RM50,000 by BuildEasy. (There are two makeovers to be won.)
Visitors can also use the goggles to take a “walk” through a virtual reality apartment designed by BuildEasy.
BuildEasy often uses VR technology to give their clients a way to “experience” their redesigned homes.
“They're able to see the design of their home before making any commitments for renovation,” says BuildEasy co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Tan Yong Meng.
“Using Virtual Reality during a HOMESAFE event allows us to make the scenario more realistic. This helps create awareness about home hazards and how serious the damage could be,” he says.
Paramount Property believes that by collaborating with Kurnia Insurans in this campaign, it will give property owners added value.
“We always try to bring about positive changes to the communities we operate within. In this case, it is to provide safety and peace of mind to homeowners whenever they are away from their home,” says Paramount Property Chief Executive Officer Beh Chun Chong.
AmGeneral Insurance Bhd (AmGeneral Insurance) Chief Executive Officer Derek Roberts says that the HOMESAFE campaign will give Malaysians access to great services and experts that will help improve their homes and lives.
“Kurnia Insurans have always believed that its mission is to keep Malaysians safe,” says Roberts. “HOMESAFE is our way of giving Malaysians the chance to learn how to keep their home contents safe and have fun and win some prizes at the same time.”
