The banking industry is constantly evolving with changes in the competitive landscape, regulations, customer expectations and new financial technologies. We are constantly faced with a multitude of challenges, some of which are more difficult to address than others.
Therefore, we need to ensure that we always do what is right for our business, employees, regulators, stakeholders and the larger community. We must also operate with the highest level of professionalism and integrity, to sustain our business in the long run.
AmBank Group has been established for more than 40 years with an existing culture of strong ethics. As AmBankers, we must continue to enforce and uphold this culture. Compliance is a key focus in AmBank Group. There are various teams and committees at the management and board level dedicated to compliance.
We are now launching our AmBank Group Code of Conduct, which is a set of standards and practices to guide you in the way we must operate our business. The Code of Conduct defines the appropriate conduct we must observe as AmBankers and guides you in your interactions with customers, stakeholders and the community you serve. It helps you understand acceptable and unacceptable behaviours, what is right and wrong.
Professional and ethical conduct is the responsibility of every employee in AmBank Group. I strongly urge you to fully understand, internalise and commit to the Code of Conduct. I am committed to work with you to build a strong culture of professionalism, integrity and ethics.
