AmBank Group and Perbadanan Putrajaya decide not to proceed with AMBANG 2015 PUTRAJAYA

The AmBank Group and Perbadanan Putrajaya have jointly decided not to proceed to stage the AMBANG 2015 PUTRAJAYA concert in light of the current flood situation in the country and out of respect to the affected victims. The annual celebration was originally scheduled to be held on 31 December 2014 from 9pm to 1am at Dataran Putrajaya, Precinct 3, Putrajaya with a line up of popular Malaysian artistes to usher in the new year.

The collective decision is in line with the government's move in respect of the thousands of people who are displaced by floods in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak, Sabah and Perlis.

“We pray that the flood victims will go through this difficult period with lots of courage and will power”, said Tan Sri Azman Hashim, Chairman, AmBank Group.

This is not the first time AmBank Group has decided not to proceed with their annual new year celebration. The first was in 2004 when the region was hit by the devastating tsunami and another one when the event coincided with the Hari Raya Haji celebration in 2006.

The AmBank Group is also looking into efforts that will help to lessen the burden of the flood victims such as helping in flood relief work in conjunction with the Group’s sports club, Kelab AmBank Group.

On behalf of all the artistes and those involved in the staging of the concert, AmBank Group and Perbadanan Putrajaya hope the situation will improve and that the new year will continue to bring peace and harmony to the nation.
