AmBank Group Clinches Four Awards at FINCO Annual Awards Ceremony 2023

The awards are a testament to the bank’s commitment to community engagement

AmBank Group has won four awards at the FINCO Annual Awards Ceremony 2023 which took place on 5 December 2023 at the Azman Hashim Auditorium, Bangunan AICB.

Wednesday, 20 December 2023 - AmBank is honoured to be recognised for its achievements with four distinguished awards at the Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO) Annual Awards Ceremony 2023. These accolades not only recognise the commitment of AmBank Group’s employees but also highlights the organisation’s dedication to making a positive impact on communities through active and engaging volunteering initiatives.

The awards received were the Overall Banking Financial Institution with the Most Volunteers 2023, having contributed 138 instances and up to 539 volunteering hours, and the Best Coordination Lead 2023. Present at the awards ceremony were Dr Ruhaya Hassan, Deputy Director, Research and Evaluation, Ministry of Education (representing YB Fadhlina Sidek, Education Minister); Tan Sri Azman Hashim, AmBank Group’s Chairman Emeritus/ Honorary Adviser who is also FINCO Chairman; and Clare Walker, FINCO CEO.

The other two awards were won by two dedicated and committed volunteers i.e the Highest Repeat Volunteer 2023 with 12 volunteering instances and up to 24.5 volunteering hours which was awarded to Kartini Miswan, Programme Coordinator, Special Projects, ESG & FINCO, Group Corporate Communications and Marketing, AmBank Group and the Most Engaging Volunteer 2023 that was awarded to Jeevanaraj a/l Pariyadan, Assistant Manager, Strategic Communications & Media Relations, Group Corporate Communications and Marketing, AmBank Group.

The ceremony which took place on 5 December 2023 at Azman Hashim Auditorium, Bangunan AICB was attended by more than 200 guests comprising representatives from the financial institutions, officials from the Ministry of Education as well as students, parents, teachers from the various schools involved in the FINCO programmes.

FINCO is a collaborative initiative pioneered by financial institutions in Malaysia with the guidance of Bank Negara Malaysia to provide underprivileged children and youths with the guidance and educational tools they need to achieve their life goals. FINCO seeks to achieve these objectives through inclusive educational initiatives under four strategic pillars i.e., English Proficiency, Life Aspiration, Financial Literacy and Disaster Relief. There are currently more than 180 AmBankers who have signed up as FINCO volunteers.
