AmMetLife Takaful Berhad (AmMetLife Takaful) today announced the appointment of Nazrulhisham Abdul Hamid (Hj. Nazrul) as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 16 June 2025. 

Hj. Nazrul brings with him more than 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles across the Takaful and insurance industry. He has spent over a decade in the Takaful sector, covering both family and general Takaful sales and operations. Prior to joining AmMetLife Takaful, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Takaful Malaysia. 

In announcing the appointment, Elena Butarova, MetLife’s Regional Head of Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal and Vietnam said “We are excited to welcome Hj. Nazrul to AmMetLife Takaful. His proven leadership, deep industry knowledge and strong track record in driving growth and operational excellence will be instrumental in taking our Takaful business to new heights.”

Hj. Nazrul holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Technology MARA, Malaysia, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.
