Code of Ethics

Our Code of Ethics provides the framework for our decision-making and guides our business conduct. We should incorporate these core ethical values into our actions to assist us in doing what is right and protecting AmBank Group (“the Group”)’s reputation. AmBank Group’s Code of Ethics sets out 6 key principles, which every employee must adhere to, namely: ​

1. Compliant
   We comply with the law both in letter and in spirit, this code and AmBank Group policies and procedures.
2. Responsible
   We identify and manage conflicts of interest responsibly.
3. Ethical
   We uphold the highest level of integrity and act with honesty and professionalism.
4. Accurate
   We ensure completeness and accuracy of underlying records, financial or otherwise.
5. Trustworthy
   We ensure confidentiality of information and transactions.
6. Equitable
   We ensure fair and equitable treatment to all.

1. Compliant

• Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, this Code, policies and procedures
• Comply with the higher standard when there are inconsistencies
• Complete all required training to build and maintain our understanding of compliance requirements
• Comply with the higher standard when there are inconsistencies
• Honestly report all actual and suspected breaches of the law, regulations, this Code, policies and procedures

2. Responsible

• Manage all actual and potential conflicts of interest with honestly and integrity
• Do not accept gifts, rewards or benefits that may create any obligation or expectation of preferential treatment
• Never trade in securities that we have non-public information that may affect the price of the security
• Disclose actual or potential conflicts of interest to our line manager, HR or Risk & Compliance representatives

3. Ethical

• Practise honesty and integrity in everything we do, with all our stakeholders
• Appropriate and proper use of our position with AmBank Group
• Act in the best interests of our customers when providing advice, products or services
• Be honest and forthright in all our communications and dealings

4. Accurate

• Ensure all records and documents are complete and accurate, appropriately labelled and securely stored
• Never falsify, omit, conceal or alter transactions in the accounting, tax, legal or regulatory records
• Adhere to the Group’s record and data management policies and guidelines
• Ensure expenses are approved by the proper authority

5. Trustworthy

• Keep customer and company information in the strictest confidence, regardless of form or medium
• Never share confidential information with other employees unless they need it to perform their work
• Never release information on customers or colleagues to third parties unless authorised or required by law
• Adhere to the Group’s information security policies and guidelines

6. Equitable

• Practice transparency and fairness at the workplace
• Treat everyone with dignity and respect
• Make employment decisions based on merit
• Contribute to promoting a safe working environment by taking responsibility for health and safety
