Shipping Guarantee-i (SG-i) is an indemnity issued by the Bank to the shipping company on the instructions of the importer to enable the importer to take delivery of goods without the presentation of original Bill of Lading relating to the goods. It also protects the shipping company from any loss resulting from releasing of goods prior to the presentation of Bill of Lading. SG-i is based on the concept of Kafalah.
